Lab safety is very important.  Every scientist should know about lab safety and lab equipment.  You should also know how to handle lab equipment and what each piece of lab equipment does.  I hope that everyone in my class knows how to handle lab equipment and knows what to do when someone spills a chemical or something like that.  If some one spills a chemical on them selves they need to get a teacher not try to get it off them selves.  Or if something gets broken like glass you should get the teacher instead of trying to pick it up yourself.
